The Salt-Mine Studio, organized in 1998 by Coley McLean and Simone DeSousa, is a multidisciplinary studio located in Detroit, housing painting, sculpture, design, as well as fabrication and foundry facilities.

Simone DeSousa is a Detroit-based artist whose work, primarily in painting media, incorporates multiple references such as architectural language, her Brazilian heritage, and the investigation of the creative process itself.
